Here is a very rare and stunning Victorian find c. 1890. This sash pin is unusual in a number of ways - the design, the fact that it is gold filled as opposed to just brass, the stone in the center (which I have determined to be some type of stone as opposed to glass - maybe a marble as there are mosaic like pieces in the stone), and the pearls which appear to be natural.

Overall the piece is one of quality, the top face showing the gold fill, the bottom showing a high shine gold gilt. There is one scratch mark on the side from where the gold content has been tested at one time (I never scratch items myself). Otherwise piece is in great shape for its age. Piece still has some existing rose gold vermeil showing through on the front side.

Brooch measures 49.5mm wide - a great size!
