Tagua, also known as vegetable ivory, is sustainably harvested in the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador. It shares many properties with elephant ivory: its very strong, light and takes a beautiful polish.

Consider a black bracelet to complete the look:

* Adjustable: A slip knot is used to fasten the necklace. Slip the necklace over your head, then pull the strings to get the length and look you desire.
* Made with sustainable tagua nuts and acai seeds dyed black.
* The necklace is 30 inches (50cm) around with three tagua beads in the front.
* The earrings are 1.5 inches from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the tagua bead. They are about 0.5 inches across.

Tagua grows on palm trees in the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador. Indigenous people gather the nuts and dry them in the sun. Tagua is harvested sustainably from the Rainforest. It’s very hard, light and durable and can be carved just like ivory.

This necklace is gorgeous! It was a bit smaller / more dainty than I'd imagined. That isn't bad, was just a surprise. Really lovely.
