This particular cross is made of Texas Mesquite. I have been making our crosses since 2004. Prior to then, neither of us had ever done wood working before, but once we were inspired to make our first cross, we never stopped. Each piece of wood I pick up has a cross in it some where. Most of the wood I use is salvaged or reclaimed from woodworkers that make furniture. Most of the wood may have ended up in a burn pile, but when I pick it up, I search for the intrinsic beauty within the piece and there it is.
A wood cross is one of the most inspiring things for Christians to own. We believe our crosses will touch the hearts of many and bring joy, peace and comfort. There are so many reasons to gift a cross. For your own enjoyment or for the many Christian holidays or special days celebrated throughout the year. Baptisms, Christenings, Confirmations, Graduations, Weddings, Funerals, Witnessing and of course, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm sure there are many other reasons as well.
