Item details

Vintage from the 1980s

This version of the Polaroid 600 instant camera was introduced in 1989 and is turned on by pressing down on the flash and letting it pop up, which also retracts the lens cover. A light near the shutter button indicates the flash is charging and the light changes color for "ready.” This also has a close up option.

Although a used camera, it looks like it wasn't used very much. It still has the paper band around the strap and looks to be in right-out-of-the-box condition. I have tested and cleaned this camera and it works well; please see the test photo. When buying Polaroid film, be sure to buy the Polaroid 600 film and see my FAQ below. You can add a pack of fresh Polaroid film to this order for $18. Buy some extra packs or new tongue installation from my shop, too!

Please contact me if you have any questions, both before and after the sale, too. I do offer combined shipping to save on costs. All sales final, but please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you!

If your camera is an "integral" camera (the photo ejects itself out), you can buy old and expired Polaroid film on ebay or other such sites. Expired film can be tricky but might also give you cool effects.

You can buy fresh film for your 600 and SX-70 camera from the BRAND NEW Polaroid site. POLAROID is back and they have a brand new formula with the best and sharpest colors yet of the newer generations. That is the film that will ship with your camera if you select a film option. You can also buy extra packs from CoxCameras!
Polaroid and Impossible Project film for the 600 and SX-70s cameras contain the battery that powers the exposure, flash, and motor to eject the photo. You never need to buy batteries for these cameras and if you buy fresh film, you always have fresh batteries!

(Be sure not to buy the Polaroid film in the yellow package. That has no battery and is only for their new cameras!).
Yes! First-do not shake it!

Second, once it ejects, put it in a dark place and keep it there for 45 minutes or so. The current formulas for this film require a good amount of time before it fully develops, so don't be alarmed if the photo is blue for several minutes.

If you're shooting in the sun, do what you can to prevent the sun from hitting the photo when it's been ejected-full sun shining on the photo will make a difference in the quality of the final image. After you take the shot, turn around so the sun is behind you or move the camera upside-down in front of you so that you can hold the photo with its front on your shirt as it ejects.

Lastly, read the paper that comes in the film pack. It's got all kinds of good info!
From the Polaroid website: "All Polaroid cameras we sell have a dark & light setting built on them. It’s either a wheel (SX-70, SLR 680) or a slider (600, Image/Spectra).

Impossible’s instant film is a newly developed material. The ASA is a bit higher than the original film and therefor, it is important to put the settings in the following:

Bright Sunlight:
Polaroid 600 - slide to 1/4 in the dark
Polaroid SX-70 - slide to 2/3 in the dark
Polaroid Image/Spectra - slide to 1/4 in the dark

Normal Daylight:
Polaroid 600 - middle
Polaroid SX-70 - slide to 1/3 in the dark
Polaroid Image/Spectra - middle

Shadow in Daylight:
Polaroid 600 - slide 1/4
Polaroid SX-70 - middle
Polaroid Image/Spectra - middle"
If this is a gift and you'd like it gift wrapped, let me know and we can work out the details. At the very least, let me know if you'd like me to enclose a packing slip that doesn't list the pricing.
