White Alpaca and Cormo Wool Roving for Spinning, Dyeing and Felting - 2 ounces
Description
Roving , 50% white alpaca and 50% white Cormo sheep, this is a lovely, soft roving that will spin, felt, and dye beautifully.
This roving is a collaboration of two shepherdresses. My alpacas here in midMichigan and Mary Parks' cormo sheep in Pleasantville, Iowa. (Still Water Fiber Farm - https://www.facebook.com/StillwaterFiberFarm).
Zeilinger's mill in Frankenmuth, Michigan, cleaned and prepared this gorgeous roving for me. We were a little concerned that it might break up and have noils because the fleeces were so soft. It did break a little. In the last picture, I tried to show you some.
I like to add a fine wool to my alpaca because it adds memory and bounce to spun yarn. Sometimes 100% alpaca yarn might stretch out when worn. Not always though. I've found that if the alpaca fleece has lots of crimp, it will retain it's shape (memory).
