Elisabeth of Bavaria Silver and Blue Aquamarine Crystals on Aluminum Hair Fork

Elisabeth of Bavaria has become a historical icon. She was considered a great beauty of her time. She has been described as tall and extremely slender, having chestnut hair that reached all the way to her knees. She was a free spirit in a time of rigid protocol and convention. She has been the inspiration of countless writers and the subject of both plays and movies.

I designed this lovely hair fork in the style of many hair ornaments of her day. It is a small but elegant little trinket that she would have enjoyed the pleasure of wearing in her long and lovely hair. It is similar in style to those seen in this portrait. Elisabeth was said to have spent many hours taking care of her tresses, and as you can see they were well worth the care.

The hair fork has a silver tone snowflake shaped medallion that has hearts in the design, that are accented with aquamarine crystals. It is carefully mounted on a hand crafted bright silver aluminum hair fork that I lovingly shaped and hardened and then hand polished.

The total length of this hair fork is just over 6 inches with 4 5/8th inches in usable length, or 15.2 cm total and just under 12 cm of usable length.
