All prints are archival quality,Fine Art Reproduction of an original pen and colored pencil drawing by Amanda Vela entitled We All Bleed The Same. This piece was inspired by a song by the artist Mendisa, the lyric from it "we all bleed the same," and its passion for rising above hate, and bigotry, as well as the importance of lifting each other up in love, equality, and brotherhood. As I drew this piece, I thought about my own family- we are Ecuadorian, like half of my first cousins, I have really light skin, hair, and eyes, while the other half have really dark skin, eyes, and hair; the last time I visited my cousins in Ecuador (I was born and raised in Colorado and still live in Denver, while most of my family lives in Ecuador), my cousin Andrea kept tellings me "same blood" as she would point to our white and brown arms as we laughed with joy because we finally were able to see one another for the first time in a long time, and how cool it was that although we don't look at all alike, we love each other, we have the same blood, and we are family; just like everyone on the face of the earth-brothers and sisters who bleed the same.
