1 oz. of hand dyed [hand painted] tencel roving.

Colorway: Deep woods. All the colors of a walk in the woods: brown, navy and shades of green. Please note: Tencel roving is very dense. Dye takes on the outside of the roving fastest, so the inside of the roving is often lighter and more silvery.

Spinning: Tencel has a long staple. For spinning, predraft well to loosen the fibers, then spin into a fine yarn. I especially like to use tencel yarns to ply with other yarns such as wool, for a little sparkle.

Silk Fusion: Tencel roving is wonderful used in place of silk roving for silk fusion [silk paper] projects. All the luster at a fraction of the cost.

Felting: Tencel is also fabulous to use in nuno felting. Start with a chiffon scarf, then layer with wool accents, then tencel, then top it off with a fine layer of wool. Wet it, roll it up and felt the layers together. Gorgeous!

Available in many other colors.

Bright or dark colors may bleed. Avoid using hand dyed fibers and yarns in projects where bleeding may cause problems.

I love how soft the fiber is and how easily a first timer could get it to a fine thread! The long fibers make it especially nice to learn on as it is hard to break it!

I do not do custom dyeing on your fiber. Dyeing is very careful and fussy work and I'd hate for something to go wrong on your project.
It's OK. You're not the first person to be confused when confronted with a skein instead of a ball. The trick with all yarns, especially slippery or fine yarns, is to keep the skein held firmly with no sagging while you wind into a ball. You can use your knees, a couple of chairs, a friend's hands, a swift [special tool for just this purpose!]. Take your time, don't rush it and if you feel it getting out of control - stop, breathe, and arrange your skein better. You'll be an expert in no time at all.
My handwovens are one of a kind. I often use 20 different yarns in a project. Hand-dyed things cannot be replicated. I have given the measurements for each item and you are welcome to contact me to see if the fabric will stretch an extra inch or so when worn, but I cannot make another one 'just like that one' but 2 inches wider.
Yarn/handwovens: Hand wash in cold water. Lay flat to dry.

Wooden spindles: Dust occasionally and polish with your favorite furniture polish.
I no longer to wholesale or quantity discounts. However, I do offer free shipping on any order over $200 not including sales tax [Indiana]. Feel free to contact me with questions.
