Description

Beautiful 1940s-50s era rayon drapery fabric in aqua blue featuring a gold and cream shadow stamped scenes featuring a majestic Great Oak. At a distance, it evokes the chinoiserie image of the Tree of Life, while up close, it just seems like home. It's quite a lovely print, and so rare to find seven continuous yards.

Originally, the background was a solid aqua with no variation in tone. At some point, it was handled with indifference which caused slight fading and color variation in a faint veining pattern throughout the aqua. In fact, it actually adds kind of a cool dimension to the overall fabric, but it definitely moves it from the original formal look to a more casual style.

Overall measurement is 42.5 inches (108 cm) selvedge to selvedge, and 256 inches (650 cm) long. That's 7 yards, pretty much on the nose, with a few extra inches to spare.
