VANGUARD SOLD THE ORIGINAL PAINTING - LIKELY USED FOR MOVIE MAGAZINE ILLUSTRATION

By which this painting was made into a limited edition fine art giclee for you! Offered for a limited time.

This art print is a more recently discovered rare pin-up styled painting believed by Zoe Mozert's is of JEAN HARLOW. It's a Deco Movie Star Pinup girl in The style of a Magazine cover. Though unsigned, atributed to Zoe Mozert, please see our other signed and documented Zoe Mozert Painting of "Calendar Girl" , circa 1945.

First Commissioned for the movie Calendar Girl in 1945, where this vintage original painting was most likely used as a prop in the movie and for all the promotional posters. If you watch the movie, you will see the painting both unfinished and completed. Later used as a production pin-up calendar. As much of pin-up art was confirmed to be thrown away in the 1950's and 60's, and because this after decades, was never found, "Calendar Girl" was believed lost forever!

This recent discovery by Vanguard Gallery is now offered as a limited edition print by us for the first time!

The vintage original pastel and mix media painting that it was made from is in near mint condition with sharp details and the colors as vibrant as the day it was painted nearly 80 years ago!

Zoe Mozert's movie stars, nudes and illustrations are rare and highly desirable and raising in valuve at auctions. Historically art departments for most movie companies, advertisers, pulp, calendar, and magazines would routinely throw away older art archives. In this way many artist's illustration work was lost at a rate of 40 to as much as 95%, leaving the old paper printed materials as the only lasting image. However This rare painting survived! This was in private collection for years and this is the first time offered here!

Vanguard Gallery has been in business since 1992. Know for the home of pinup revival and Elvgren, Vargas, Petty, Runci, Moran, Zoe Mozert, Daniel Vancas, DeMartini and more artists. This is where you'll find, rare images of Marilyn Monroe, Bettie Page, Retro and vintage Nudes and pinups in Lingerie, Garter Belts, Glamour, stockings and nylons, and frilly panties, all playfully flirting with the viewer... We also have historic objects, antiques, radios plus illustrations and advertising from the deco to modern period. Aviation, WWII, Island, Hula, Tiki and so much more
