Description

This is one of the most amazing, gorgeous, and rare luminous red rare necklace and earrings set by "Bill Smith of Richelieu".

Bill Smith has designed for known houses such as Richelieu, and Cartier. He designed the jewelry for Katharine Hepburn in her roll of Coco on Broadway, and was the first black designer to win the coveted Coty Award in 1970. Finding his jewelry is a rarity. It is truly of the highest quality.

The 1970's designer necklace features a luminous 1-1/2" long x 3/4" high open back oval red cabochon framed by brilliant Austrian crystal chatons and set in a gold tone finish. The total measurement of this pendant is 2-1/4" long x 2" wide x 1-1/4" high. It hangs suspended from a beautiful double linked 22" goldtone chain with jaw clasp. This is a very long chain (22"), so it has been photographed at a shorter length.

The earrings are an exact duplicate of the pendant from the front, but are not open on the back. Each earring measures 1-1/4" long x 1" wide x 3/4" deep with spring screwback clasp on back.

All of the rhinestone crystals are hand prong set in a gold tone finish.

~ MEASUREMENT: Necklace - 22" long with 1-1/4" drop / Earrings - 1-1/4" long x 1" wide x 3/4" deep

~ SIGNED: The earrings have a design patent number 3,176,475, (1965). The necklace is signed Bill Smith of Richelieu" in script, and Richelieu was a mark used by Joseph H. Meyers & Bros. in 1970, consistent with designs produced by Bill Smith during that period.

~ CONDITION: Excellent condition an will be perfect for any occasion. All stones show bright and beautiful (no dark or dead stones). It will be stunning for the holiday season, and what a magnificent Valentine's Day gift!
