This listing is for an original fine art wood engraving of a Polyphemus moth. This miniature print was engraved with burins into a piece of juniper that I chopped down on my parents property in Finland. Wood engraving was invented in the 1700's in England and interestingly enough we still use the same tools and printing processes today as they did back then! I hope you can enjoy my love of the process and nature through the prints in my shop.

Paper size: 6x5"
The image has been hand printed onto Mohawk Superfine printmaking paper at Pica Doodle Press in College Station, TX. After drying for a week, each print in the limited edition of 50 was numbered and signed by me.
Prints are shipped in flat cardboard mailers in clear plastic sleeves. If purchasing as a gift, I'd be happy to include a small card with personal message for no additional cost to you.

Just received my locket and it is adorable! I already own some of Mirka's artwork, but the fact that I can now wear it around is so cool. As always, her attention to detail is outstanding, both with the artwork itself and with the packaging. Definitely a wonderful Mother's Day gift- got one for my mom and myself!!

What a beautiful locket with a miniature work of art. The attention to detail is amazing and I'm so happy with this purchase! Now I can't decide which to keep and which to give my mom for Mother's Day. I may have to buy another one for her!
