Epic Snake Cocktail Ring - Made to Order

Description

I am not tired of carving snakes yet. I'm just getting started! In this kick-ass epic whopper of a cocktail ring, a snake curls around a stone of your choice, then slides around and coils up along your finger. In this version, a ~1/4ct diamond sits at the base of an lovely and dreamlike boulder opal. A light patina brings out the detail and texture and lends an overall vintage quality to the piece.

This ring is priced in 14K gold WITHOUT the primary larger stone, but pricing DOES INCLUDE THE DIAMOND. You get to choose the primary stone that best matches your taste and budget. The version in this listing is shown with a boulder opal.

My rings are hand carved in wax using pointy tools and then cast using the lost-wax method. The band is carved thick and nicely rounded for comfort and wearability.

** Additional photos of all angles and details about this ring are here: http://blog.cheyenneweil.com/2017/03/epic-snake-cocktail-ring/

---- PRICING + STONES ----

PRIMARY (Larger) STONE (not included in price): I have this ring shown here with a 12x16mm boulder opal (also a 12x14mm smokey semi-black Lightning Ridge opal, and a 12x16mm carnelian). The size is a calibrated size (one of the "common" sizes gem cutters cut their materials in), but even so, it'll take a little bit of doing to come up with a good match. Good options would be: Opal, turquoise, chrysoprase or gem silica, for example. I have a gorgeous Ethiopian opal in my studio that would work with this ring--please convo for photos and pricing.

DIAMOND (Yes! included in price): The ring in this photo is set with a vintage Old European Cut diamond that is .24ct G/SI and ~3.75mm in diameter. (Additional ring photos at the end show 4mm diamonds.) I have this ring priced to include something similar (vintage, old-style cut), or a modern brilliant of at least G/VS2 Excellent cut, 1/4ct size (which will generally be a tiny bit larger with a modern brilliant cut, more like 4mm diameter).

All diamonds I purchase are guaranteed Kimberley Process certified (i.e., "conflict free") or vintage/antique post-consumer stones (removed from antique jewelry). They will come with a grading certification from GIA if they are modern new stones (though some of my antique finds do as well).

---- CUSTOMIZATION ----

I can customize this ring using a different primary stone (see above) or change up the diamond to be a colored stone, e.g., and I can also make this using different metals: 14K or 18K white, yellow, or rose gold. Please send me a convo for pricing in 18K if you are interested. I will make this ring custom to fit as well.

---- SHIPPING ----

* Custom pieces take around 4-6 weeks to make **once we have procured all stones required** Please allow additional time to do this (I will let you know the timeline via email).
* I ship USPS, insured. Shipping price below is for an insured package in the US.
** YES! I do ship internationally. Please convo me for a quote to your country.

I can't say enough about Cheyenne and her work. I love this ring so much! It's absolutely perfect. Cheyenne had to size down her original squid ring design to fit a size 5, and she did it more smoothly and beautifully than I thought would even be possible. It's an absolutely stunning piece, and it fits perfectly. She was also super fast, very communicative, and patient with all of my inquiries and requests. I'd give her 10 stars if it were possible. Thank you Cheyenne!

Love that the designer worked with me on what gemstones will work with the ring design. Communication throughout the process was great.

Shipping policies

If the item is a custom order, please allow at least ~4-6 weeks for me to make the piece (I can let you know a more accurate timeline via email when you order). If you have a wedding coming up, just let me know and I can make sure you get your rings in time :) (*Rush fee might apply--additional info below*)

I ship ready-to-wear items within three days of receipt of payment. Multiple items may be shipped together (simply calculate total insurance cost).

** SHIPPING TO A DIFFERENT ADDRESS **
Contact me if you have special shipping instructions.

** INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING **
I DO ship internationally; I just do not have it listed in my purchase section because of the wide variety of pricing and insurance depending upon where the item is shipped. Just convo me with your address and I'll give you a shipping quote. Very generally, it's around $40-50.

Otherwise, I ship USPS Priority or Express, insured. You can specify uninsured if you want to but please be aware that I cannot responsible for damage or loss by the postal company.

** UNINSURED SHIPPING PRICES **
* To US: $7
* To Canada: $10
* Everywhere else: $15

Of course, if you are located in Portland and would prefer to pick up your piece and save on shipping, you are welcome to do so and I'd love to meet you :)

** PACKAGING **
All pieces are sent out in ring boxes, which is then in a protective little box tied up with a satin ribbon. A gift card is enclosed stating exactly what your piece is, along with cleaning instructions. All this is in another box to protect the lot from the wilds of the Postal Services. A box in a box in a box. Yay!

** RUSH ORDERS **
I hate to have to do it but I get a lot of requests for rush orders and I'm finding it increasingly difficult to accommodate them with my current workload. Therefore, if you need to rush your order, I'll charge between $125-$175 additional for fully custom designed/carved orders and $75-$100 for the pieces listed in my Etsy shop. The range in price is because my workload can fluctuate quite a bit. Thank you for understanding!

** RING SIZING **
When ordering a ring to be made to size, please be absolutely sure you have the correct ring size. Go to a jewelry store and have them measure your finger using both a narrow measuring ring and a wide ring. This gives me a very good idea of the shape of your finger. Be sure to take into account how your fingers feel that day; i.e., the temperature at the time of sizing (your fingers can swell a little during warmer weather, shrink during cold dry weather--if you wear rings normally you probably have a good sense of whether you are having an average finger-size day). Many of the rings I make are not easily re-sized once finished due to the way the carvings go all the way around the ring so it is really important I have the right size when I make you a ring. Don't worry if you are between sizes; just let me know all details that seem pertinent and I'll make it to fit.

** SNEAKY RING SIZING HOW-TO!! **
Two options I can think of: Select a ring she wears on the SAME finger you wish to buy her a ring (or him--goes both ways :). You could either bring it into a jewelry shop to get the size, or you could buy this cheapy ring mandrel from amazon.com: http://tinyurl.com/7h2yorx (in case she doesn't often go without it or would notice if it were missing for any period). Slip the ring on the mandrel and note the size; just make sure it is a nice snug fit. Best is to also send me the mandrel to calibrate sizing on my end; there can be some variation in plastic mandrels.

Or, the more dramatic option (one of my clients successfully did this!): enlist the help of one of her friends to take her shopping and stop by a jewelry shop on the pretense that the friend wants to be sized for whatever reason. The friend then needs to convince your fiance-to-be to try on the sizers too "just because" and the friend can later tell you her size.

** SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS **
Any special requests regarding shipping or notes to be included when I send your piece, etc. should be made known to me using the screamingest bold ALL-CAPS red flashing font you can find. Basically, just make it obvious to me if you have any special requests; I'd hate to miss something critical in a "note to seller" or anything :)
