There is a small town in Mexico where monarch butterflies migrate every year right around the Day of the Dead Holiday. To the people the butterflies represent the souls of your loved ones.
To the Native Americans the dragonfly means the same-and also transformation, change, renewal and good luck.

I used a 2" by 2" vintage enameled and sparkly butterfly in reds, oranges and purple centered with a silver skull. There are vintage glass and crystal beads and a dangling teardrop in ruby red.
The main chain is vintage and is all unique and special beads-some with sparkling foil inserted. The smaller vintage chain is handmade red glass with a little drape of jet black aurora borealis faceted crystals.
A cinnabar carved piece and a hand carved wooden dragonfly also adorn the necklace.

This one of a kind piece may be worn from18" to 22" to the top chain with the butterfly. Very versatile! You can see two different lengths in the first and second photos. I always hang something on the end so you look great coming AND going!

This would be an everyday piece (for me) - protective, pretty AND edgy!
