What a fun item to use in decorating your table for a seafood meal or I can see it in the background of a cool little 3D wall frame! When I took the photos I thought it looked really cool hanging. I found this little (approx. 6.25 in.) trivet going through my mom's things. She isn't able to tell me about it anymore but she and dad loved to travel and did a lot of it so I'm imagining her picking it up at some little shop by one of the coasts. I actually have a necklace that I found over 30 years ago in my grandma's basement on the Oregon Coast that reminds me of it and I know that is really old. So I'm guessing this is antique but I don't know how old. I also suspect its handmade. The trivet is made of two different types of shells, beautifully matched in size and color. There are two damaged shells which can be seen in the photos. Because of the damaged shell (Which I didn't even notice until I examined it carefully.) I'm pricing this summery little item low.
