NOTE: After 14 years of throwing pottery, I have now found out from a customer that a water filled piece can cause condensation = marks on your surface where the piece is standing, so to avoid this for happening I recommend to find a liner (a watertight bag, plastic cup, highball glasses, jars etc.). that fits and set it inside. Someone else says to coat any unglazed areas on the bottom with epoxy glue to stop condensation. Since I have never had this problem myself (living in dry CO), I have not tried it.
