A green, brown and yellow large-hole artisan made glass bead that is 1 ¼” in diameter and ½ “ thick is the focal point for this stacked bead necklace. Four other handmade beads finish off this earth-tone necklace. They consist of 2 brown wavy disc glass beads, a green textured glass bead made from a wine bottle glass and a brown handmade clay bead. Six small gold colored metal beads are added to the necklace to enhance the design and the necklace is strung on orange/brown leather cord with a slip knot closure. The necklace can be adjusted in length to a maximum 30". The circle bead has been an interesting shape for me in thinking of the rich symbolism of circles and the mandala-like shapes and patterns I can incorporate with glass. I also enjoy using recycled glass in my pieces and the green wine bottle glass set the tone for this piece. A small little clay bead adds texture and enhances the earthy feel of the necklace.
