This blank journal has 180 pages of hand torn 80 lb. white sketchbook paper. (Counted front and back.) It measures 6 1/2" wide, 9 3/4" tall and about 1" thick. The dark brown suede is soft and strong enough to carry wherever you go. The cover flap features a gentle curve and a single flower cut from red leather and stitched onto the cover with my great grandmas pearl button!

I asked my grandma for a button to use and she directed me toward her mom's button stash. She used to cut buttons off of everything before the clothes were trashed after being all worn out. I said, "Oh grandma, I don't want to use your mom's buttons. They are special." She told me that her mom would be glad to know that the buttons were (finally) being used again. And that my journals were special, just like the buttons.

The book is constructed using a longstitch binding technique with red linen thread. The stitching you see on the spine is actually holding the book together; not merely decoration. It has a matching leather strap to secure the journal closed. The interior of the leather is unlined.

I hope you fall in love with this journal and use it all up!
