Chopsticks have a simple elegance and I tried to capture that with this design. Each pair, and each rest, is handmade and finished with food-safe mineral oil. The design is for "Japanese" style chopsticks, which taper to a finer point than do chopsticks from other cultures. The tips are roughly octagonal in shape, and the back end is given a shallow pyramid detail.

I've listed chopsticks in two materials, paduak and walnut. Paduak (pictures 1, 3-5) is a tropical hardwood with a naturally vibrant reddish-orange color. Walnut (picture 2) is domestic in origin and a rich chocolate brown. The oil finish darkens and makes the colors more rich. Periodically re-applying a coat will protect the wood and enrich the color.

In keeping with the goal of simple elegance, the rest is a piece of oak that is contoured to hold the chopsticks. Each pair of chopsticks comes with a rest.
