Description

As part of my 2009 resolutions, I started a series of daily paintings that are more realistic instead of my usual whimsical characters. These are usually small works designed to help me flex my painting muscles and warm up before working on larger pieces, plus a wonderful goal to keep me motivated to be creative each and every day.

By choosing objects I have around the house, I get a chance to see things in a new way. This baseball, for example, was a great eye opener for me. I'd never really *looked* at all the detail & craftsmanship that goes into each stitch. Amazing! And of course, I was flooded with memories of watching my dad play ball as a girl. I was in charge of the equipment & even got my own jersey that said "Bat Girl" on it. I loved it!

A bit of a mixed review because, while I am over the moon in love with these prints, it has taken forever to get them. I asked the artist two YEARS ago if I could order them, and was told that she would try to update her etsy page soon (I'd spotted them on her Instagram page). I bugged her on & off since then, only to get the same response, or none. That said, I finally have them and they're beautiful and I love them, so i'm glad I kept bugging her. I'd ordered & received Bandits (middle print) over two years ago and wanted these two ladies to accompany her on my wall. They look amazing!!

I spotted these Tennenbaum prints when I was in Vancouver. I got two other ones instead, but have been thinking about Margot and Ritchie ever since (my favourite movie!) So glad I found them online, since I've been kicking myself for not buying them in the first place. Lovely seller too! Let me know if you ever paint a Chaz to finish off the set. :)

Love my new prints... These robots make my heart smile. KGB is so great. Loved the handwritten note in the package on her cute postcard. Also, she went above and beyond, letting me know of local spots she'd be at on various weekends, and inviting me to an open studio afternoon. I got Stanley 2 years ago, and have loved adding new faces to my collection. She does beautiful work.
