Description

This is an example of the creation of a wall mural. The first picture shows the completed mural. As china painters/over glaze painters we have to apply small amounts of paint then fire, add more paint and fire again. We do this over and over till we get the desired color. Picture number 2 shows the first fire of the mural. Picture number 3 shows us painting the first fire. The red areas are "resist" to protect the yellow flowers from getting green color on them. The last picture shows the lay out of the tiles with the preliminary sketch.
This mural is using 4" square tiles. This is going along the counter in someones kitchen. We have done these murals for kitchen's and for baths. Pictures can be shown upon request.

We are taking custom orders for your home. Sometimes people have done a painted tile here and a painted tile there, rather than an entire mural. Tiles start at $6 each depending on the complexity of the design. Something like the sunflowers as shown would be $6 each. The paint is kiln fired. This means they can be washed, we actually use comet to clean ours behind the stove.

If this is something you may be interested in. Remember you will be responsible for the careful measuring of your wall as well as the mounting of the tiles. The actual cost of the tiles will depend on your design. Shipping will depend on how many tiles you purchase. Tiles can be heavy. We will need to be in contact by telephone to talk this all over and then we will make a listing for you.
