Description

A collection inspired by Greg's Cherokee Heritage. The Wolf you Feed Cuff is available in brass, copper and silver. Based on the Legend. Each 1" cuff is engraved in the Cherokee Sylabary with the words - The Wolf you Feed.

There is a legend that goes like this.

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.
“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”
He continued,
“The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.

The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Sequoyah created the Cherokee sylabary. Prior to Sequoyah, Cherokee was an oral language. Within a few months of introducing the script the tribe was literate. Books were translated into Cherokee and tribes members were writing and reading.

We at Cherokee Copper would like to do our part in our Cherokee Community. For every piece of our Cherokee Heritage Collection a portion of the proceeds will go to Cherokee Scholarship Funds to help our youth further their education.

Each piece you purchase is packaged in a muslin bag and mailed in a box in. We mail USPS, first class. We typically mail out in about 2-3 business days but occasionally can take up to 5 business days to mail out.

We try to accurately depict each piece. Each piece is handmade right in Oklahoma by a Cherokee Artist so there may be slight variations. We do our best to represent the each of our pieces as accurately as possible.

If you would like us to make a larger quantity of a particular piece please contact us. We do custom orders and can design something just for you and your occasion.
