Description

I wrote this book in response to people who kept asking how I build specific pieces of miniature furniture. The answer was always more than I could state in a few words. The book takes you from a basic carcase to much more complicated projects that you can build even if you don't have a complete wood shop. The 285 illustrations guide you through building 11 projects. Shipping usually the next day.

My system is not based on cookie cutter designs where I tell you to cut so many pieces of specific sizes. You'll learn to start with the outside dimensions of a piece, draw the design, and fill in parts that need to be built. You'll learn how to make your own patterns and go on to make unique miniature items. If you want a different scale, just start with outside dimensions that fit where you'll put it.

The projects pictured on the front cover (photo 1) teach you how to:
- Mark & Cut to avoid tedious fractions
- Plan effective cutting sequence
- Cut a bevel
- Make a drawer, with knobs
- Make a pattern and cut complex curves on wood
- Repair gaps and holes
- Install hinges
- Make latches that work
- Reproduce real furniture in miniature
- Make acrylic decorative trim
- Reproduce artwork even if you aren't an artist
- Construct an intricate piece of furniture without detailed instructions
- Upholster a chair without a pattern
- Inlet a glass window
- and more.

Note: these projects are too advanced to be made by children.

A limited number of copies are available through this shop. I will personally autograph each of them.

The USPS has no international media shipping rates, and for me to ship internationally would cost you too much. Therefore, I ship to USA only, by book rate.

The book is also sold and shipped internationally through www.amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, amazon.de, amazon.fr, amazon.it, and amazon.es. Search under books for Aunt Ellie or Elinor Cruze.
