Description

This is an original cast bronze sculpture by noted animal artist and Saluki breeder Garry Newton of Texas. Garry was commissioned to create the life sized bronze Saluki at Southern Illinois University where the Saluki is the SIU mascot. His animal sculptures are highly regarded and sought after worldwide. This beautiful solid bronze pyramid n high relief symbolizes the history of the Saluki, its ancient Egyptian origins and the long history of the Saluki and hawk as partners in the hunt. It is signed by Garry Newton and copyrighted 2003 as an original 5 of 20 issue. This is a substantial piece weighing over 5 pounds of solid bronze resting on a wooden base. It is approximately 6 inches and the base and stands 9 inches high. This is an estate piece that was donated to our nonprofit Saluki rescue charity.
