Description

Antique 1853 letter addressed to Capt. Tucker from a man in North Brookfield. The name of the sender looks like Clark Knight but I am not sure. The date reads March 4/53. It is an interesting glimpse of 19th century everyday business and interesting piece of ephemera.

The letter references the Captain’s son Frederick who has offered Mr. Knight some “… clover seed” for sale. The best I can figure out, the man is talking about the current price at the market, in Boston, and what he is willing to pay. The paper has an embossed symbol at one corner.

The paper is 7-¾” X 10”. It had been folded and has various horizontal and vertical fold lines. It is still sturdy and intact. There is a slight bit of water stain at a corner and an edge but everything is readable - if you can manage the old fashioned hand writing!

This will ship by First Class Mail in the U.S. or First Class International to other countries.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS - PLEASE NOTE! VAT is NOT included in price for this item!

Always happy to combine shipping. Just let me know which items you want to combine and I will let you know the S&H cost. Please see our Profile and Shipping Policies for other info.

Packages are usually shipped within 1 business day excluding (but not limited to) days with: snowstorms, a car catastrophe, flooding that closes the little bridge to town, or a cat emergency.
