Vintage Copper Tray, Hand Hammered Etched Table tray, Wall tray, Very Large Round Tray, Arabic Style decor Coffee Table
Description
This is an amazing and rare find: a gorgeous copper tray, very impressively large and heavy. The metal work is all handmade, hand carved and hammered. It is handmade of solid copper and it is made in the 1910's- 1930's. It has a pewter coating at the front to make it food safe and easier to care for. It has a gorgeous genuine aged and patinaed look, it shows clear marks of use and time. I cleaned it up a bit and you could clean it even more or just keep it in this lovely aged state.
It comes with wooden feet to use it as a coffee table, the feet are collapsible for easy storing.
The feet are much newer about 20-30 years old but are also handmade and made according to how the old one was.
This piece is from Turkey and has been used frequently, these trays were used to eat, the wooden legs would be covered with a large cloth, on top comes the tray with the food and the table cloth would be used to cover the legs to prevent bread crumbs and such to fall on the floor.
You could use it for the same purpose or as coffee table or as decoration on the wall.
The tray is 32 1/4'' (82 cm) wide and 19'' (48 cm) high as a table with the wooden feet. It is heavy.
