Description

This brooch has a beautiful simplicity to it. And yet, at the same time, it has a hidden complexity. It is a brooch. It is a necklace. The 'Moon' can be removed and strung round your neck on the sterling silver 17 inch (43cm) chain that is included in the black gift box.

The brooch itself features several layers of enamel. There is a layer of gunmetal grey diffusing into milky whiteness round the moon. Over the top I have laid a layer of apple green enamel - this is the text - the Love Letter. This is all fused to a copper base.

The silver moon slots in at the top - illuminating the handwritten love letter. While the hand forged silver element holds the whole ensemble together with hand made sterling silver rivits. The back plate is sterling silver which has been stamped with the title of the piece "Love Letters Written by Moonlight". It has been lightly distressed round the edges to give it the feel of an old, cherished letter. The fittings on the back of the brooch are sterling silver whilst the pin itself is made from steel piano wire which gives good spring and strength.

This piece is for a woman who loves romance, who wears her heart on her sleeve and is proud of her emotions and what they connect her to. It is for a woman who hides secret complexities that only those who love and know her well are privileged to see.

The brooch is 8.5cm wide (3 and 1/3 inches) by 4.8cm at its' highest point (just under 2 inches) the thickness of the brooch is 3mm (0.1 of an inch).

The enamel is effectively grains of glass that have been melted onto the copper. It is fragile and if dropped from a great height onto an unforgiving surface the enamel is liable to chip.

It is hallmarked with my unique mark along with the traditional sterling silver marks. I get this carried out by the Assay Office in London. It is your guarantee of quality and authorship.

It comes gift wrapped in a black box - ready to give as a present to yourself or someone else.

Shipping policies

My location: England, United Kingdom

FREQUENCY OF SHIPPING
Your item will be posted from the charming village Post Office. I visit this little village almost everyday and will package your item with the utmost care and ship it out to you within 24 hours of receiving your payment.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TILL MY PACKAGE ARRIVES?
I am in England, Europe and so i will take from 7 to 21 days (in rare cases, up to a month, I know, how annoying, I wish I could control this, but alas I can not) to arrive with you in the USA, Canada, South America and Australia (or similarly far flung exotic locations). Within Europe your item should arrive with you between 5 and 7 days.

On custom orders I will email you to let you know how long it will take for me to create your order and will then contact you when it has been shipped.

SHIPPING ADDRESS
I will ship to the address that you choose during your Etsy checkout (not your billing or PayPal address).

PACKAGING
I package each purchase in a black gift box. This is then carefully protected and wrapped for shipping in a stong bubble mailer or tough plastic envelope. I used environmentaly friendly bubble wrap inside the mailing envelopes.

CUSTOMS / IMPORT TAXES

Orders that are shipped to countries outside of the European Union (E.U.) may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country ("Import Fees"). If you are outside of the European Union (eg: USA, Canada, Australia, South America etc) you will effectively be importing my jewellery when you buy from my shop. As such, an international shipment may be subject to Import Fees, which are charged once a shipment reaches your country.

Additional charges for customs clearance will be the responsibility of you the customer. I have absolutely no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country. Please check with your local customs agency for tariffs and rates and for further information. Also, you should be aware that when customs clearance procedures occur, it can cause delays beyond the original delivery estimates.

INSURANCE
Please check each item description for what insurance is included in the postage price.
