This first edition copy of a funny story called Pigs is Pigs was published in 1905 This is the sixth printing released in 1906 as stated. On the cover is a clever illustration of two cornucopias spilling over with guinea pigs.
It tells the story of a railroad man who is shipping his guinea pigs by rail, but think his pigs should be charged as livestock and not the domestic animal rate. Chaos ensues as the pigs multiply until the dispute is resolved.
This is the origin story for the famous Star Trek episode, The Trouble with Tribbles.
The story is written in the language and cultural norms of the time (it would not be thought of as politically correct today).
The story is 37 pages. Five humorous illustrations by Will Crawford enliven the story. The book measures 4.5 by 7 inches.
The book is in vintage condition. Cover shows some rubbing to the cover illustration.
