Description

This is one of my favorite ads ever! It's from Life Magazine, March 11, 1940 for Ipana toothpaste. Here we see clean cut Billy (button down shirt and tie on a ten year old...) brushing his teeth.

The caption reads, "Do you see Billy?
No, I see a man with a Home of His Own.
What is the Man Doing?
He is Facing the World with a Sparkling Smile.
What makes his Smile so Sparkling?
Perhaps because he started young with Ipana and massage."

There are so many things to comment on here but I'll let you have fun with it. All I'm going to say is that my son did not use Ipana and he still lives in an apartment. The ad goes on to extol the warnings of "pink gum" because our modern food is too soft and our gums get lazy, weak, tender, flabby. (Again, you have fun with that... ) This ad is framed in a repurposed brown wood frame that is 12" by 15". This is great for any bathroom or dentists' office. Keep it yourself or give it as an original gift. And, remember to get your son to brush so he can buy a house!
