How to choose the right files for print? What is aspect ratio?

Aspect ratio is nothing more than a size relationship between the long and short sides of a photo. That is why it is important to use the right ratio file to avoid image cropping while printing. All our prints come in different ratio files. This way you can choose the ratio that suits the size you wish to print. All files are scalable. Use 4:5 ratio file for printing 4x5, 8x10, 11x14, 12x15, 16x20 inch. Use 3:4 ratio file for printing: 6x8, 9x12, 12x16, 15x20, 18x24 inch. Use 2:3 ratio file for printing 4x6, 6x9, 8x12, 10x15, 12x18, 16x24, 20x30, 24x36 inch. Use PaperSize (ISO) file for printing: 5"x7", A5, A4, A3, A2, A1, 50x70cm Use print-11x14 file for printing 11"x14" inch

Where to print printable art?

1. Print at home This is the easiest, cheapest, and fastest method! You can use an inkjet or laser color printer. It is best to print on a high quality paper such as a premium matte cardstock for best results. Since most readily available cardstock and printer paper is 8.5 x 11 you will need to trim the paper if your printable is 8 x 10 for example. Before printing, make sure your printer settings are set up for high quality printing, high quality paper (if using it). 2. Local Print Shop You can print at your local print shop like Kinko's, Staples, Walgreen's, Costcotake the file on a USB flash drive with you. 3. Online Printing Services Snapfish, iCanvas, mPix, Shutterfly, Vistaprint, CanvasPeople, Photobox

Where to buy frames? UK

We often get questions on how to frame the print we sell. While you can take a print to the framing shop- this is not always an affordable option. WHERE TO PURCHASE FRAMES UK 1. Ikea- offer the largest range of frames. Look out for conversions as they sell frames in centimetres rather than in inches. 2 Wilkinsons- best for budgets, great range of sizes and frame colours. 4.Tesco- less choice but their frames are good quality and mostly come with mounts. 5. Habitat- not as cheap as others but you get what you pay for! 6. B&Q- lots of choice here again, with or without mounts. You will notice that frames always state the size of the frame and the size of the mount aperture (or window!)inside. Take time to read these before purchase.

How to frame at home?

FRAMING YOUR PRINT: You will need : your frame, your print and a roll of framers tape, or for cheaper option, masking tape. Remove all packaging from your frame, take out the backing board, paper insert and the mount if there is any. Give a glass quick clean down with glass cleaner to remove dust or marks. You'll be glad you did! *Skip next step if your frame doesn't have mount Place the mount on the table face down and lay your print over the aperture also face down. Use your tape to tack the corners down. Cut strips of masking tape and run these along the edges of your print. Popp it back into the frame, replace the backing. TA DA! you just framed your print!

I can't find my download

Sometimes I offer links to download the files. I do this because Etsy does not support uploading more than 5 files per listing. So in order to offer a set of prints(2,3,6) I have to use external storage like Dropbox. In this case, there will be no images for you to download here on Esty, instead, there will be a PDF or txt file. It contains a link/links that will take you to download the files you purchased. You don't need a dropbox account to download my files. Just follow the link in the PDF or txt file.

Downloading and opening zip files

Sometimes I offer links to download the files. I do this because Etsy does not support uploading more than 5 files per listing. So in order to offer set of prints(2,3,6) I have to use external storage like Dropbox. You don't need a dropbox account to download my files. Jus follow the link in the PDF or txt file. For Windows- You can download 7zip http://www.7-zip.org/. To open right click the zip file, click 7zip from pop-up menu and then "extract to.." For Mac - Right-click the ZIP file on your Mac, click “Open With” from the pop-up menu and then click “Archive Utility” to decompress the file. Alternately, double-click the ZIP file to open it with Archive Utility.
