Start of Little Mouse:

Explain to children that the mouse loves to hide inside the house. Let children close their eyes as you hide the mouse under a house.
Point to a house and ask children which color the house is.
Ask "Do you think the mouse is hiding in the "red" house? Let's call the mouse and see!

Say:
"Little mouse, little mouse,
are you in the (color) house?
Remove the house. Is he under there?
If no, under which colored house might he be hiding?

When you find the mouse and there are some remaining houses, then go to each house and say:
Hmm is there another little mouse hiding behind the (color) house?
No. not in this house.
Continue until the last house is done and say
"No more mice. She’s the only one!

Other Variation:

As you go through the story above, make sound effects when you slowly peel away a house.

Whisper as you say the verse Little Mouse or
Squeaky voice,
deep voice
hold your nose and talk

(whatever you can think of to add variation to the story.
