Vintage book, The Bartered Bride, by Frederick Smetana, copyright 1943 By The Metropolitan Opera Guild. European comedy, musical opera adapted into a book. Lovely, colorful illustrations by Howard Arnold are on each page of the book. Quaint costumes and folk art make this a beautiful book, for any opera lover or anyone who likes a light-hearted story. Many full color plates, even the end pages are delightful, see photo. Book is in very good condition, with a name in ink on one page, see 3rd photo. Dust jacket has cellophane, and also has some rips, this is by far has the most damage. Front cover of the book is the same design as the dust jacket, which can be easily removed of you wish. Inside pages are pristine. No rips, markings or stains.
