This is a knife made by Clauss Cutlery of Fremont, OH. Shield is stamped 'Clauss' and blades are stamped '46', and 'Fremont, Ohio, U.S.A.' This is a very heavy duty pocket knife that was built to last. About 4.5" when closed and a touch more than 7.5" with large blade out.
Many of the Clauss Cutlery Co pocket knives were made by W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co. In many cases, the vintage Clauss pocket knife is more valuable than the Case Tested XX stamped version, of the same model.

This blade has a minor condition issue as shown in the form of a chip to the bone handle that reaches the third brass pin, however handle is stable. There is a second, very small chip shown. All said, this knife is in good condition from the 1920's and is hard to find. Blades are much thicker than on modern day pocket knives and open and close nicely. Lots of wear consistent with age, but this knife still has work to do.
