It has scratches, metal aging and dings characteristic of copper kitchen ware, (especially where the wood handle has knocked against the kettle. There are mineral deposits inside this decorative tea kettle. Please review the photos carefully for the exact condition of this item.

This sturdy primitive kettle was fashioned out of solid copper sheet, has overlapped pinched seams and was soldered together before being plated in nickel. It has solder around the spout indicating a repair.

The handle features triple riveted handle brackets, a rolled bale style metal handle and the original turned wooden grip handle and lid finial.

I acquired this kettle from my grandmother and it may have been used in her childhood Vermont home in the early 1900s.
