This is a derivative work (see Reinhold's Monkey) that is made in painted chalkware and is labeled by the manufacturer, "1968 Progressive Art Products". Statue is approximately 9.5" tall by 8" wide at the widest. A few fleabites in the plaster, but overall in fabulous condition. The figure is that of a monkey (chimp or other primate) holding a human skull and staring at it contemplatively like "the thinker". This statue has also been called "Darwin's Mistake" in other iterations.
