Description

VINTAGE CHINA PLATE - AUSTRALIA SOUVENIER (?) - KANGAROO with "Joey" and Aborigine Baby Riding It.

I'm not sure if my parents bought this little plate on their travels but, however I came to own it, I have always found it intriguing. I think that it would have been created in the 1950's.

It has survived all the years without a chip, crazing of the china or any wear on the artwork or gilded edge. In the photos you can see places where the background is uneven: I think the artist was suggesting clouds that the three were hopping into. I also want to point out that the diagonal line across the Kangaroo's forehead is part of the design…not a flaw.

The plate is 4 inches in diameter. Note that there are 2 holes on the base rim for hanging on a wall.

Price is $15.00 and careful shipping is $6.00.

I gladly refund any shipping charges that exceed the postage and money spent on boxes and packing materials. Of course, I will combine orders to create larger refunds. Your purchases will be shipped within 3 working days.
