"Epona" - A print from the original painting by Emily Balivet, 2009.

The Celtic Goddess, Epona, draped in red stands between two horses in a vast landscape. Her name means "Divine mare" in Gaulish. The mare was an ancient symbol of fertility, this has lead to suggestions that she was an early Mother Goddess figure, whose role was later reduced to protector of horses.

Printed on archival quality smooth stock, the image measures 11" x 14" with white border allowance for framing.
Signed and dated by the artist on the back, the print is sealed in a protective cello sleeve and shipped flat.
