Materials: coins, silver, sterling

A Heart Dollar and one or more Heart Dimes, coin on the concave side and polished smooth on the convex side, on one chain together. These pieces come on a sterling silver bead chain. Please select length of chain and number of Heart Dimes (to represent number of children) from the drop-down menu.

This configuration is available in other designs, too (see the last photo). Get in touch with me if you'd like one other than the hearts.

To make one of these pieces, the face is sanded off on one side of a coin. Then using traditional hammering and forging techniques, the piece is domed with a block and punches. Due to the substantial weight of the coins, there is quite a bit of labor involved. The piece is polished by hand and cast, using the lost wax method. The pieces are immersed in a blackening solution and polished. The finished piece of jewelry is cleaned and ready to be worn.

I really love this store ever since a friend of mine bought a half dollar pendant that I envied. I thought the prices were too high so I got the smaller version but wish I had gotten the half dollar size. The Quarter size pendant is as described and beautiful. The necklace is pretty lightweight, but it is lovely.
