Description

Very heavy art glass vase designed by Ladislav Oliva in 1983.

This flower shaped vase has a ribbed body with eight petals around the rim.

It was produced by the Skrdlovice glassworks in Czechoslovakia and has an internal cobalt blue coloured core cased in clear glass.

Pattern no 8307/17. There is also a smaller version of this vase but this is biggest.

A similar vase (also in the Vintage Glass Shop) is referenced in 'Beranek & Skrdlovice' by Bevan Jones, Parik & Hill where it states:

"The vertical ribbed body of this vase creates repeated optical distortions as the piece is viewed from different angles. Sought after by collectors, it is a significant design by a respected designer."

************************************************************************

The vase is:

17cm (6.5 inches) high;
15cm (6 inches) wide;
and weighs 3kg (6.5 pounds).

It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, scratches or bruises.
