Description

1920's wood picture frame mounted with natural scallop shells on a sea blue and beige pinstriped fabric. The shells are a brown, grayish blue and cream color.
I love vintage / antique specimen and botanical framed prints, combined with hand collecting scallop shells on Quincy shore, and Nantucket, Massachusetts, and a collection of vintage and antique picture frames, I decided to make my own version. They are framed with out glass so that they are more dimensional and tactile.
The wood frame is a wonderful textured, patterned blue with a rich brown etching/ trim design, and gold sides
The frame measures aprox. 17 1/4" x 13 1/4" x 3/4". The face of frame is aprox. 3/4" wide. The shells vary in size around 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" each.
A beautiful frame with a great palette of blues and browns and texture in the frame, shells and fabric. Frame shows wear expected of it's age, and shells show natural imperfections.
Sold as is. I generally ship on Thursday after sale completion.
