This lovely set of 5 keys is actually framed with keys! The frame you see here was made from the parts of the keys that are normally unseen. Flanges and letup buttons cover the seams, and the whole is mounted onto a piece of wood cut from the piano case to form a unique presentation of piano art.

PERSONALIZATION AVAILABLE: Allow me to personalize it for you with an added ivory nameplate on the bottom of the frame bearing your personal, hand-written message. I will work with you and create samples with your information before making the nameplate permanent, to be sure you will be satisfied with the end result.

NOTE ABOUT UPCYCLING: Because I use discarded pianos, many of which are 50-100 years old, each piece by nature will have some minor defects and show some signs of "wear and tear." They may also appear somewhat dirty, despite my knuckle-scraping efforts to get them clean. (Solid wood pieces get a sink bath, but felt pieces can only be scrubbed with a dry wire or nylon brush.) Not only that, but each piece varies slightly from the next, making your purchase a one-of-a-kind. Any parts that are not indigenous to the piano are purchased new; only the piano parts are upcycled.

NOTE ABOUT IVORY: Some of my piano key creations are made with genuine ivory keys. I do not promote the modern-day harvesting of ivory, and I had nothing to do with the choice of material used to make the keys; however, it seems honorable to the animals who contributed a part of themselves that we preserve their contribution in the form of art rather than letting it go to waste in a landfill. If the use of ivory offends you, please let me know and I'll make sure that the item you receive is made with a synthetic substitute. Conversely, if you prefer ivory, please tell me, and that's what I'll send you. Special orders may take 1-2 weeks to fill, but I'll let you know right away if there will be a delay in sending your order.
