Description

I took a long time deciding how to best honor this award. Although the necklace will come in a separate box with a wrapped bow, I will also be sending you the original box that a young Setterberg received this award at the Children's Festival, along with a card with his full name on it. In trying to find the history on this award, I tracked it to a young man born in 1910 in Iowa. If that is the right boy, then he was 7 when he received this award.

It's hard to part with this lovely medal as it has a history and it's in excellent condition. I've seen other medals similar to this one in very poor condition, nor did they include the original box or the young recipient's name handwritten. I'm so pleased to have an original, with the original box and a card with his name written in a calligraphy style. I hope I've done it justice by suspending this precious past from a necklace of genuine, lustrous pearls, sparkly amethyst stones and mother of pearl beads. All connections are hand wire-wrapped with non-tarnish wire to ensure security and lasting beauty. These are attached to a reproduction watch fob chain towards the back of the necklace and ends in a lovely clasp.

The necklace is photographed at several lengths and can be customized to 16", 18" or 20". You decide which one best works for you. Pendant, from the religious medal down to the tip of the award medal, measures an additional 3-3/4" .

This necklace is a one-of-a-kind creation made with antique, vintage and heirloom components gathered, collected, and gifted to me over the years. As all items in this necklace are vintage, please be sure to look at all the photos to make certain the condition is acceptable to you. The pearls have imperfection as genuine freshwater pearls. The amethyst stones are also vintage and have a few imperfections, but overall beautiful and nothing you can see unless you're looking for them. The medal is clean and in very good vintage condition despite sticking around since the last century.

NEW REFUND POLICY!

We have a return policy for your happiness! If you are disappointed in the item you've purchased, simply let me know within 24 hours of purchase. Once I have your decision to return the item, you will have 3 days to postmark / return. When I receive the return I will immediately refund you the full value of your original expenditure with us (this does not include the your cost for returning the item to us, but does reimburse you for the original cost of shipping the item to you). Why do we do this? Preserving the past means everything to us. We do not want you to accept an item that you will not be proud to wear, or worse you'll eventually throw away! Order with confidence, your happiness is guaranteed!

In an effort to keep returns low, when ordering, keep in mind that all our items are vintage, antique and/or costume. Please do not expect brand-new condition. These are previously worn and beloved items. We cannot predict when a rhinestone is going to come loose. The signs of wear add to the beauty or character of the item.

Each piece is described and photographed closely so you can judge for yourself if it's in a condition that you find acceptable. As for the description, in the event we are unsure of the metal or the stone/crystal/gem in the piece we will make it clear that we question what it may be.

We're humbled by our excellent ratings and by the comments we've received from our customers. The love and excitement over our creations are exactly what we hope for with each mailing. Our top two priorities are to have satisfied, happy customers and to preserve yesterday's sparklers for tomorrow's heirlooms.
