The most popular legend of the dream catcher comes from the Ojibwe nation. In this legend is told the usefulness of the dream catcher. It was made for the first time by a female spider named Asibikaashi. She had as role to care for children at night when they were dreaming. But she Can not take care of everyone, so she asked for help to mothers and grandmothers. She asked them to weave dream catchers to filter the dreams of their children. The cloth would trap bad dreams and at the first light of day it would destroy them by light. Good dreams pass them in the center of the canvas.

Today, the dream catcher is always used in the same way. It is used to filter out bad dreams. mainly we put it in the window of our bedroom because the light would pass by there first. It can also be placed as decoration or outside his room. There are also several sensor variants dreams and meanings in different nations.
