Highlights
The bag is knit first, then felted. Once dry, the purse is fully lined and embellished with a fabric of your choice. The pattern includes complete sewing and embroidery instructions. The bag's finished size is an approximation -- aim to get these measurements during felting: 11” tall x 9.5” wide with a 3” gusset and a 45” strap.
Yarn Requirements: Use a 100% worsted weight wool to knit the bag: three 220 yard balls for the main color and just a few yards of a second color for the embroidery detail.
Fabric Requirements: Choose 1-1/2 yards thick 100% cotton fabric. For the bag shown, we used
Amy Butler’s Full Bloom fabric in Forest from her August Fields collection.
Supply Requirements:
Size 10 straight needles, a yarn needle, sewing needle and cotton thread to match the
exterior bag color. Fusible interfacing to keep the fabric applique from fraying.
