These two matching vintage Lustreware pitchers are attention-grabbers no matter where they are seen! They each have iridescent-gold handles plus three bands which alternate with pure white bands. In the center is a double row of alternating rectangles in carnelian red, sky blue, and white, within thin black rules and borders, all beautifully painted with care. The larger pitcher measures about 6-3/8" tall, 5-1/4" wide, and a nice 8" from the tip of the handle to the edge of the pouring lip. Its smaller partner measures 3-1/2" tall, a bit over 3" wide, and slightly more than 4" from the handle tip to the lip of the spout.

These are very, very old (my research says these were made in the early 1920s), definitely hand-painted, and would add grace and elegance to anyone's table -- whether serving ice tea in the afternoon or chilled lemonade at a BBQ.

The iridescent "Lustreware" glazing is gorgeous, and the sky blue and carnelian red are set off with lustrous black accent lines. The larger pitcher has a few inclusions in the glaze plus a very fine hairline fissure in its bottom, 2" or less -- but it still holds liquids very well. The small one is nearly perfect. The bottoms of both show, in pale green glaze, a five-pointed crown sitting on a laurel wreath. In the center is " UNION K". Underneath this it possibly says "Made in Czechoslovakia" -- but it is blurred and difficult to read. The large pitcher is embossed with what appears to say "1-1/2 L" (Liters?), and the small pitcher reads "1/4".

Insurance has been included in the shipping for these pitchers. Shipping costs are estimated, and I gladly refund excess postage paid.
