Description

Here is a dark navy blue steel enamel bowl either by Cathrineholm designed by Grete Prytz Kittelsen (1917 – 2010) from Norway or by Kaj Franck for Arabia or Finel made in Finland. The shape is pure Cathrineholm, but the color is what was used by Franck in his bowls for Finel and Arabia. We have seen a few advertised as one or the other so if you know for sure please let us know. It measures 9 1/2" in diameter by 4 1/8" high. This bowl is in very good used condition with minimal edge wear which is hard to see because of the color, but can be felt when running your finger around the edge. This some use scratching on the interior and light scratches on the exterior. The bottom has noticeable scratches from sliding around on table tops. The genius of this design and color is that is really hides the blemishes. No rust or loss of enamel. A very nice serving bowl at an affordable price.

These metal bowls were very popular in the 1950s and 60s when they first started appearing in American department stores. They are still popular today for their great design and durable construction. We try to keep a nice selection of steel enamel bowls in stock.

Shipping to a New York State address will be charged 8.0125% sales tax. Easy shipping costs sometime are high and we will refund overages on shipping costs if they occur.

Please see my website www.hamel20.com for important high-end modernist design items.

All sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges. Therefore, to avoid buyer’s remorse please review the listing and photographs carefully and ask questions before making the purchase. We will do our best to answer your questions timely and provide additional information. Thank you.
