A small limited edition of an etching of a magnolia tree in flower.
The image was drawn from life from a tree in my garden that was perfection for about six days before the rain and wind blew the flowers around. I drew the tree and then reversed the image onto the etching plate. The plate was then acid etched to create the line work. An aquatint was then added to create tonal depth in five stages. The image was then printed onto etching paper.
This etching is printed in blue black. I have also printed it in a warmer tone of burnt umber and violet mixed together.
