Winged Cherub Earrings with Creamy Pearls French Brass French Findings Stampings Wedding Bride

Winged cherubs have long been favoured for brides as wedding jewelry. I've owned a few pairs of antique French wedding earrings dating to the 19th century that remind me of these, and which were the inspiration for this design. The cherub or cupid is associated with love and the white pearls perfectly offset the aged patina on these highly detailed brass stampings.

The winged cherubs are made in Paris using 100-plus year old dies. These actual stampings are contemporary, though their exact year of manufacture is not known. They have lots of fine detail.

The earrings measure 2.25 inches or 58 mm long.

I pack most of my parcels simply to ensure you get the best postage rates, If you would like these in a presentation box with gift wrapping please choose the shipping upgrade to economy air or tracked shipping.

I love them! They're smaller than what I imagined (that's my fault, not the seller's, I didn't look at a ruler lol) but it works out perfectly cuz I wanted to put them on some hair clips. Love them! Thank you!

Most likely there will be color variation between what is shown on your computer screen and what I see when I photograph the items for sale.

There are many reasons for this variation, such as light conditions when photos are taken, settings of your screen and even how you see color.

If a color match is critical to you please get in touch and I can give you more information. Otherwise please expect some variation caused by the above reasons, as well as the various finishing methods and patinas I use to treat the items in this shop.

In general, any items with a patina will look coppery bronze in natural light. Any variations that appear on the screen are due to light conditions when photos were taken, or colour settings.
No you can't.

The brass stampings I sell are copyright to the manufacturer. They own the designs and do not allow unauthorised replication. Please respect their artistic rights and not copy the items you buy via any means.

Any handmade supply or components I make for finished designs are copyright to me. I do not allow unauthorised reproduction, though I hope my designs will inspire your own creativity.

You may of course re-sell any items as-is, or make your own creations to sell to your customers.
Yes, I can offer wholesale prices for bulk orders. Please get in touch via Etsy convo with your requirements and I will let you know the prices and minimum order quantity.
Yes, most likely the patina on your brass pieces will continue to darken over time. Some people like this, but for those who do not, you can brush it back with ultra fine steel wool. You can also seal the patina with renaissance wax or spray sealants.

Any pieces I add a patina to will also be sealed with an environmentally friendly spray sealant. This sealant can retard the progress of further patination, though it probably will not stop it entirely.

The best way to avoid disappointment due to item colours not meeting your expectations is to buy the raw brass version of any of my stampings. You are then free to make your own colourings and patinas to achieve your desired result.
I've been selling on Etsy since 2009 and have never had a package go missing or items damaged in the post. I pack everything carefully and use sturdy boxes to ship most items. Usually it takes 2 weeks for items to reach most parts of the world from Australia. Once I have posted an item I can't tell you its whereabouts unless you took tracking, which is a shipping upgrade. That said, I trust our postal system as I have never had any issues with it.

Some parts of the world experience slow mail, especially (for some unknown reason) Canada. Neither you nor I can control the speed of the mail and I can assure you, if I personally ran the postal service, your parcel would be there lightning fast. But because I don't, we must accept what is.
Adding a patina to a piece takes time, expertise and materials. I need to buy the patina, apply it, buff back the piece then repeat if I am not happy with the result.

When I solder on a bail, I also use materials, and time. This includes the handmade bail, solder, use of torch and gas, then adding the patina. I have invested nearly $1000 into a proper soldering set up, so this ensures you get the best result.

I prefer to solder a bail so that you don't have to punch holes in the pieces. It seems such a pity to damage the design with holes. I choose the most logical location for the bail.

You often have an option to buy a piece in raw brass if you prefer not to pay for the added touches. Please check individual listings for more details.
My shipping fees start from a low $3.00 to most parts of the world.

Shipping costs vary depending on how heavy an item is and how bulky it is. Where possible I will always try to offer the cheapest shipping option, but sometimes in order to protect the items you purchase, an upgraded shipping option must be taken.

Additional items cost an extra $0.15 to ship. If shipping fees are overpaid I will issue a refund. Shipping fees include the supply of new, quality boxes or bubble envelopes and protective wrap.

In some cases where the shipping calculated is well below the actual cost to ship, I will contact you and ask for an additional payment.

All shipments of $100 value or higher must be shipped with tracked services.
When adding a patina to a raw brass stamping it allows me to fully highlight all of the detail in the design. Some pieces, depending on the natural patina and metal content, may not show their full beauty in the raw state. I process the piece with my own antique patina and then do further treatments in order to show you all the amazing detail in these high quality stampings.

Read each listing carefully to understand what the buying options offer you - raw brass, patina or with a soldered bail.
- All stampings sold in this store are Nickel and Lead free.
- Production of brass stampings is in accordance with ISO14001 (eco-friendly production).
- All pieces are made in brass, though depending on the copper content
in the metal, some look more 'coppery' than others.
- All production is 100% made in France using original, antique tooling some of which dates back to 1840.
A soldered bail is a brass ring (usually a few millimetres diameter) that is soldered onto the brass stamping to offer a permanent ring from which you can hang the item. By soldering the ring on it is a strong and secure connector that is fused into the brass stamping. This is useful when making earrings and pendants.

You would need to have a soldered bail in cases where you need to hang the brass stamping but do not wish to damage it by drilling holes into it.

Soldered bails do not come off unless you snip them with wire cutters or bend them back and forth enough times to break the join. In regular normal use they will never come off.

My personal view is that a soldered bail or ring makes your design look more professional.
