If you choose the black letters, over time the black may fade but can easily be fixed with a paint marker. Color in the names, let dry for a min and wipe off excess with a cloth. I absolutely adore my ring! I had a measuring tool at home and according to that it said I needed a size 8 but the ring was a smidge too big, but it could be from the cold weather!
