Description

A beautiful, feminine gown from the 1950s with acre upon acre of draping.

Made from what I think is a rayon voile the heavily drained fabric is sectioned by lengths of black velvet ribbon that end with little bows.

The dress skirt is lined in voile with a length of tulle for volume.

Under this is a layer of rayon and then a cotton underskirt.

The bodice is lined in rayon and fully boned.

Two black velvet ribbon straps have been added to the dress, they are certainly not original and personally I would remove them as they are not needed. They look fine though, so I will leave it for you to decide. Unpicking them is a two minute job.

The label reads 'model by Rebuck of London'.

Condition is very good to excellent.

I have had the dress dry cleaned. There is some discolouration to the lining of the bodice.
The straps are worn (but not an original part of the dress anyway).
On close inspection there are some very faint marks, nothing that the camera picks up, I am splitting hairs.

16.5 inches across the bust
12.5 inches across the waist
19 inches across the hips
40.5 inch skirt length (waist to hem)

There is some wiggle room in the measurements, I reckon up to a 36 bust and 26 waist
